Richard Ocaya Kica,

Founder and Development Analyst

Richard Ocaya Kica

Qualifications: Mr Kica holds a Master of Research in Development Practice (MResDP) from The University of East Anglia, UK; a Master of Arts in Social Sector Planning & Management (MA. SSPM), and a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration (Hons.) (B.SWSA), from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda.

Experience: Richard has 15 years of experience in development practice in development, conflict and post conflict interventions as a researcher, consultant and practitioner. In addition to working with the UN (UNICEF) for 8 years, he has completed several consulting assignments for CSOs and UN agencies. Key agencies consulted for includes: United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), UN Human Rights, World Food Programme (WFP), CARE International, Danish Refugee Council (DRC), MEDAIR International, American Refugee Council (ARC), Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR) and CARITAS.

Dr. Julius Omona,

Senior Consultant

Julius Omona

Qualifications: Dr Omona holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Wellington, New Zealand; a Master of Public Policy and Administration from the Institute of Social Studies, The Netherlands; and a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration (B.SWSA) from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.

Experience: Currently a Senior Lecturer at Makerere University, Department of Social Work and Social Administration, Dr Omona brings considerable skills and experience in public/social policy analysis and determination of relevance of development interventions. Dr Omona’s areas of Interests includes policy analysis; Organizational development, programme development, monitoring and evaluation, vulnerability and post conflict challenges and has provided consultancy services to several development and humantarian agencies.

Business Analyst

Oyoo Peter Alip

Qualifications: In addition to a number of short trainings attended, Mr. Oyoo holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in Finance from Osmania University, India; Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA-Accounting option) from Makerere University, Kampala and a Uganda Diploma in Business Studies (UDBS-Accounting option) from Makerere University Business School, Kampala, Uganda.

Experience: Currently a Business Analyst and a Senior Examination Officer at Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board, Mr. Oyoo brings over 16 years teaching, research and practice in the field of business. He provided consulting services to a number of development agencies and private sector in addition to other experience such as Resident Coordinator at Makerere University Institute of Adult and Continuing Education in Northern Uganda, and Academic Registrar at Northern Institute of Business Studies (NIBS).

Qualifications: Matt holds a Master of Research in Development Practice (MResDP) from the University of East Anglia and a certified mental health professional.

Experience: Matt brings 20 years of practice in the field of community development, organizational development and psychosocial rehabilitation/care with practice experience in both developing and developed contexts with agencies including Mandela Trust and Khuphuka Project in South Africa.

Qualifications: M/s. Aciro holds a Master of Arts in Development Studies (MA. DVS) from Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, Uganda, a Bachelor of Development Studies (B.DVS) from Gulu University, Gulu, Uganda, and a Diploma in Conflict Management from MIRO Global Consult, Copenhagen, Denmark; and Diploma in Education from Masindi National Teachers’ College, Uganda.

Experience: Currently a Consultant at DevOptions Consulting, Kevin brings over 10 years of experience in conflict, post conflict and development programing. Key areas of expertise includes governance, conflict management, human rights based approach to programming and gender. Kevin provided consulting services to a number of development and humanitarian agencies and served in several positions with agencies including Action Aid International, World Vision International and several USAID funded programmes.

Stella Akiteng

Qualifications: Stella holds a Master of Art in Communication from Atlantic International University, Hawaii, United States and a Bachelor of Arts from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.

Experience: Stella has 14 years of experience in program development and management in both conflict and post conflict settings, and private sector. In addition to several consulting assignments undertaken, Stella worked in programme and organizational development for agencies including Cultural Agency for Social and Environmental Development (CASEDEV), Youth Social Work Association (YSA), Battery Operated Systems for Community Outreach (BOSCO)-Uganda, Intercultural Development Agency (IDA) and Operation Save Innocent Lives (OSIL)-South Sudan.

Qualifications: Mr. Odong holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Project planning and Management (PGDPPM) from Uganda Management Institute, Kampala, Uganda and a Bachelor of Development Studies (BDVS) from Gulu University, Gulu, Uganda.

Experience: Currently the Operations Manager at DevOptions Consulting, Alfred brings at least 10 years of experience in managing organizational operations, community mobilization, and managing protection programme in conflict and post conflict settings.
In addition to providing conducting services to a number of civil society organizations, he has worked for agencies including American Refugee Council (ARC) (Protection Officer), Danish Refugee Council (DRC) (Operations Manager) and Total Exploration and Production Uganda (Community Liaison Officer).
